STERO, (the feature being developed from the short film), directed by Millan Tarus and Tevin Kimathi and produced by Juliana Kabua, is a selection for the Pitch and Finance Forum at the 2025 Durban FilmMart (DFM)!

Taking place from 18–21 July in Durban, South Africa, DFM is the continent’s leading film finance and co-production market. This year’s theme, “Bridges Not Borders: Stories That Unite”, couldn’t be more fitting for STERO, a project deeply rooted in shared African experiences.

After premiering at IFFR in 2023 and screening in Kenya as part of the Beneath The Tides collection in 2024, STERO is now taking its next leap into feature development. Our selection at DFM, following our participation in the Creative Producer Indaba, is a critical step toward building international partnerships and securing support to bring this story to life on a larger scale.
