After a beautiful premiere at Encounters in June, Matabeleland has continued its journey with two special screenings in South Africa this July.

First up, the film was featured in the Durban FilmMart Alumni Showcase, screening alongside a lineup of bold and brilliant work from fellow DFM alums. Held on the 18th of July at Elangeni Hotel in Durban, it was a powerful moment to be part of a space that continues to champion African storytelling on and off the screen.

Then on July 30, Matabeleland screened at The Bioscope Independent Cinema in Johannesburg, a venue that’s supported the film from the very beginning. Bringing the film back to this screen was very special for us.
